Group Proposal and Presentation: Students will use the course material to develop a group proposal. Students should develop a proposal for a group appropriate for delivery in a community or school setting in which they wish to work. Students will present their Group Proposal on the last two days of class. Presentations should last no longer than 20 minutes. The proposal should include (at a minimum and in no particular order):

  1. A detailed overview of the population and its clinical needs,

  2. A review of literature on the effectiveness and/or efficacy of individual and group therapy with this population,

  3. The topic of the proposed group including its relevance to the population,

  4. Group logistics (e.g., location, time, type),

  5. Group membership (e.g., client screening, client selection, group composition),

  6. Group cohesion considerations (e.g., developing a group culture, addressing issues of transference, potential difficult clients, potential complications)

  7. Anything else you want to say about the group.
